Folk Weekend: Oxford YouTube stage
This is our third stage for the weeekend. Those wonderful groups of dancers, singers, players and, errrr, lego figures who cannot get together in person this year to perform live have put together some great videos for us to debut on our Folk Weekend Oxford YouTube channel. Here is the schedule so you know when to tune in, but obviously if you miss the debuts they will then be available after the weekend. Click on the links to get more information on the performers. Friday 16th April
7pm - Opening Ceremony
Featuring speeches by our outgoing Creative Director Cat McGill and incoming Creative Producer Jim Driscoll. Also opening words form our two Festival Patrons, John Spiers and Jackie Oates. Followed by our wonderful Festival Choir singing Spring Carol and then our first Morris performance of the festival weekend - a massed Princess Royal!
Saturday 17th April
Midday - Saturday lunchtime entertainment
Not one, but two Mummers plays. Presented to us by Abingdon Traditional Morris and a Pace Egging Play from Crook Morris
3pm - Morris Dancing (this will now be at 3.15, to allow those who wish to to observe the 2 minutes national silence)
Hurst Morris People, Rose Hips, Armaleggan, Aldbrickham, Crook Morris, Abingdon Traditional Morris, Phoenix Morris, Belles of London City and Tahlia - all the way from Russia!
7pm - Concert
What's Up Folk, Short Drag Roger and Ark-T's BSL SingSong group
Sunday 18th April
3pm - Morris Dancing
Eken Morris (Sweden), Plum Jerkum, Dorset Button Rapper, Cornucopia, The Knights of King Ina, Icknield Way Morris Men, Cry Havoc and Black Annis
7pm - Concert
