"...one of the county’s best weekends of music." - Oxford Mail
Folk Weekend 2020 IS NOT CANCELLED!
Things are tough at the moment, and they are especially tough in the arts and cultural sector. Events are cancelling, venues are closing, and artists are facing months of little or no work. Faced with all this we really had no choice but to GO ON WITH THE FESTIVAL if at all possible - if anything we need arts and culture even more at the moment, and our artists definitely need us.
It's obviously going to look a bit different. Some events will have to be cancelled, but anything that can be taken online will be, and we are doing our best to put together an amazing weekend of music for you. There will be ticketed events, and there will be free events, and it will all be delivered to the comfort of your own home!
Please bear with us while we get everything in order - we're going to leave the original schedule up for now but will be announcing the new plan as soon as we can. If you've bought a ticket for an event that is cancelled then you will have received an email, and all ticket holders for live-streamed events will receive information in the next week or so about how it's going to work.
If you want to get prepared for a weekend full of music, then there are a couple of things you can do:
1) Sign up to our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/folkweekendoxford - this is where the free events will be happening
2) Download Zoom from http://zoom.us - this is what you'll need to watch the ticketed events
3) If you want to join in the virtual sessions it might be worth investing in a good USB microphone for your computer - optional of course, but you'll get a better sound when you're playing
